One of Infobric UK’s newest installation partners, Bond Security Services Ltd working in partnership with Cape Electrical & Mechanical Ltd have won the contract to provide access control for the refurbishment of 10 South Colonnade, in London’s financial centre, Canary Wharf.

Canary Wharf Group who own the building, have signed a 15 year lease with The Cabinet Office (Central Government) which will see 5700 civil and public servants move from Whitehall into the new Government Hub in Canary Wharf. So as well as the refurbishment, the building also has to support staff going about their normal day to day work.

With this in mind, security and segregation of contractors and office staff between the refurbishment project and offices was paramount. Damon Bond of Bond Security Services opted to fit 3 half height office style turnstiles with 395 Controllers connected to iEvo Rev3 Ultimate Biometric Surface Readers. The Infobric system meeting all of Damon’s requirements to his client, being cloud based, wireless and high security.

Damon installed the system for his client, Overbury, who are the main fit out contractors on the project, the principal contractor being ISG who already have numerous Infobric controlled sites with their Scottish construction team. The site went live on Ease on the 6th October and already over 1200 workers from the main and sub-contractors have been added to the system.

This is a trial fit out project for the UK Government, it is due for completion in the summer of 2018, if all goes well this will lead to a contract for £1 billion, to cover the refurbishment of a further 800 office units over the next 10 years, in a move which will see more Government Departments moving into more modern, regionalised and cost effective office buildings. Bond Security Services have also had interest in the Infobric system directly from the Head of Security at Barclays, who run building security and ‘front of house’ at 10 South Colonnade, with a view to using the system commercially as well as during refurbishment projects. To this end and to meet their needs, the R&D Team are working on a 30 day presence status for Ease with the ability to automatically remove individuals from site who do not swipe in, within the 30 day time frame.
